We’ve had this moment in mind since we founded Design Italy.

And naturally so. With our mission being to promote Italian design worldwide, a collaboration with Cassina – the company and brand that has done exactly that since the early 1950s and is a unique, powerful and dynamic icon of all things Made in Italy – is of utmost importance.

What makes Cassina unique is its ability to reinvent itself while upholding the incredibly high values that are intrinsic to Italian design. These values include outstanding design capacity, characteristic of a growing manufacturing ability following WWII together with Italian craftsmanship; creativity in all its facets; and Italian managerial capability. It is impossible to grow while keeping an eye to the past without having attentive, open-minded and forward-thinking management.

We believe that the 2022 Collection is a clear example of this: it is the result of innovation involving materials. Starting from a unique project that began 70 years ago, the various revisitations of historical collections are guided by an approach to more sustainable production.

This push toward the future inevitably leads to the digital world.

E-commerce businesses might seem like competitors of brick and mortar distribution models. In reality, e-commerce enhances everything: it leads to more direct knowledge of customers and thus to better products and services in the future, breaking down geographic barriers and serving as a showcase 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
